Built for the morning
when bids are won.
The story
Brefi started as an internal tool. I run Haijahr — a small UK software studio — and I wanted to win more public-sector work. Every morning I'd open Contracts Finder, Find a Tender, Public Contracts Scotland, then TED. By the time I'd scanned them, I'd lost an hour to noise and missed the two contracts that actually mattered.
So I wrote a script. It pulled the OCDS feeds, scored each notice against my CPV codes, flagged the ones that mentioned Cyber Essentials Plus (a niche where Haijahr has a competitive edge), and emailed me a graded brief at 7am. Suddenly I was reading three relevant tenders over breakfast instead of fifty.
Then a friend pointed out that recruitment agencies have the same problem — only worse. NHS Workforce Alliance, CCS RM6277, HealthTrust, council temp frameworks: missing a re-tender cycle means a year out of the running. So I turned the script into a service. Brefi, from brief: both the spec a recruiter receives, and the daily briefing we deliver.
The premise is simple. You set your filters once. We watch every UK and EU public-sector feed, all day, every day. You read a single email each morning — already scored against what you care about, with the buyers, deadlines and CPV codes you need. No portals to scroll. No noise to triage.
What we won't do
I
Sell your data
We don't run analytics on what you bid for. We don't enrich a third-party dataset with your behaviour. The wire goes one way: from the feeds, through your filters, to you.
II
Charge by seat
Fifty pounds a month. No "team" or "enterprise" tier with hidden phone numbers. Your bid team is one team — they should all see the same brief.
III
Lock you in
Cancel any time, one click. Export your filter config and your match history. If Brefi stops earning the £50, it should stop charging.
